The Hole 3D (2009)

Susan and her sons Dane and Lucas Thompson move from Brooklyn to Bensonville, in the countryside. Dane is upset with the constant changes of address and the family has lived in many cities. Lucas and Dane befriend their next door neighbor, the gorgeous Julie and the brothers find a bottomless hole in the basement of their house locked with several padlocks. They take the locks off and sooner they are haunted by their darkest fears. Further, they believe that the hole might be a gateway to hell.

Joe Dante ohjasi 80-luvulla ihan mukavia kauhukomedioita, joista varmaan parhaiten mieleen tulee Gremlins-Riiviöt. Tuon kultakauden jälkeen Dante on viettänyt hiljaiseloa, ohjaten lähinnä tv-ohjelmien jaksoja. Pääsiäisen kunniaksi ajattelin katsoa tämän elokuvan omalla kotisohvalla. Elokuva muistuttaa paljon Danten vanhempia töitä ja kyllähän tässäkin hieman sitä samaa tunnelmaa on. Ihan ainesta koko perheen kauhuelokuvaksi. Mutta elokuva on jäänyt jonnekkin 80-luvun tunnelmiin ohjaajansa kanssa eikä elokuva liiemmälti säväytä. Ehkä, jos tämän katsoo 12 vuotiaana se voi olla pelottava, mutta tässä iässä se tuntuu turhan kliseiseltä ja typerältä. Elokuva on ilmeisesti muokattu 3D muotoon, koska 3D tuntuu päälleliimatulta stereoskooppiselta kuvalta. Ehkä sillä on vaan tavoiteltu lisää yleisöä muuten melko mitäänsanomattomalle elokuvalle. Nämä jäleenpäin 3D:ksi muokatut elokuvat ei tee oikeutta nykyaikaiselle aidolle 3D elokuvalle ja tässäkin koko homma on aivan turha. Kyllähän tämän nyt kotisohvalla katsoo, mutta jos tästä olisi maksanut elokuvateatterissa 14 euroa olisi kyllä tuntenut itsensä petetyksi. Kivoja muistoja tämä kuitenkin tuo nuoruudesta mieleen, ei sen kummempaa…

Joe Dante directed the 80’s pretty nice horror comedies , most of which probably comes to mind Gremlins , Gremlins . That golden age after Dante is living quietly , directing mostly TV shows episodes. I thought in honor of Easter to watch this movie on your own home on the couch. The film looks a lot like Dante’s older work And after a little here too it is the same atmosphere . Just material for the whole family horror movie. But the film has been left somewhere in the 80’s spirit with the supervisor, and the movie little incentive. Maybe, if this considers the age of 12 , it can be scary, but at this age it seems too cliché and silly. The film is apparently modified 3D format , as 3D feel on top of the adhesive fire stereoscopic frame by frame . Maybe it is , but the target audience more otherwise rather bland for my movie . Of course this now considers home on the couch , but if this would have cost 14 euros a movie theater would’ve been feeling betrayed. Nice memories of this , however, brings to mind his youth , nothing more nothing less.
