Matt Damon palaa agentti Jason Bournen rooliin! Medusa-trillerisarjan viidennessä osassa Bourne astuu esiin varjoista. Ohjaajan tuoliin palaa Paul Greengrass, jonka käsialaa olivat elokuvat Medusan isku ja Medusan sinetti. Greengrass on myös kirjoittanut elokuvan Christopher Rousen kanssa.
Julia Stiles jatkaa Nickyn roolissa. Näyttelijäkaartiin liittyvät Vincent Cassel, Tommy Lee Jones ja yksi Hollywoodin kuumimmista uusista nimistä, ruotsalainen Oscar-voittaja Alicia Vikander. Bourne-sarja perustuu Robert Ludlumin hahmoihin.

Jason Bourne on melkoinen pettymys. Siinä missä aiemmat elokuvat ovat luottaneet tarinaan, tämä uusin luottaa toimintaan. Elokuva on kyllä täynnä vauhdikasta toimintaa Fast and Furious elokuvien tapaan, mutta samalla toimintajaksot ovat idioottimaisen ylilyöviä. Jos SWAT tiimin auto porhaltaa ulkona heittelemällä muita autoja kevyesti tieltään ja pysähtyy vasta törmätessään muutamaan yksikätiseen rosvoon kasinolla on elokuvan toimintakohtauksilla melkoisia vaikeuksia olla uskottavaa katsottavaa. Elokuvan käsikirjoitus on melko yksinkertainen kujanjuoksu, joka luottaa vauhdikkaaseen toimintaa, mutta unohtaa aiempien elokuvien loistavan tarinankerronnan. Täytyy vain toivoa, että jatkossa luotetaan parempaan juoneen kaiken turhan mäiskeen sijasta. Agenntiseikkailuna elokuva on korkeintaan keskikastia. Toimintarymistelynä se onnistuu hieman paremmin, jos jättää aivot narikkaan, mutta kokonaisuutena elokuva oli ainakin minulle melkoinen pettymys.

Jason Bourne is again being hunted by the CIA. It begins when Nicky Parson a former CIA operative who helped Bourne who then went under and now works with a man who’s a whistle blower and is out to expose the CIA’s black ops. So Nicky hacks into the CIA and downloads everything on all their Black Ops including Treadstone which Bourne was a part of. And Heather Lee, a CIA agent discovers the hack and brings it to the attention of CIA Director Dewey, the man behind the Black Ops. He then orders Parsons be found and hopefully Bourne too. Parsons makes contact with Bourne who told her to remain under but she tells him, she found out his father was the one who created Treadstone and that they were interested in him long before he joined. Eventually they find them and there’s a chase. Dewey sends a special operative known as The Asset who tries to get Bourne but gets Nicky instead. But before she dies she gives him something which leads him to the file she got and when he reads it, it …

Jason Bourne is big disappointment. Previous movies trusted more a good story, this one trust just brainless action scenes. It try too hard to look Fast an Furious movie, but seem to be just too stupid. Action scenes are brainless and overreaction. If SWAT car manages to bump all cars to high up in the air and stops only when it hit in few slot machines at casino then action is just too stupid to be true. Script is simple and predictable and it trusts too much for action scenes and forget the story telling. I just hope, that they trust more for the story if they will make more movies to Bourne series. As a brainless action movie it works a little better, but to me a good Jason Bourne movie isn’t just action. It needs a good story too. Big, big disappointment to me.
