Prelude to Axanar (2014)

Muutamat eläkkeelle vetäytyneet tähtilaivaston upseerit keskustelevat kokemuksistaan neljän vuoden sodan aikana. Sota, joka käytiin tähtilaivastin ja Klingonien Imeriumin välillä Axanarin aurinkokunnassa. Sota, josta muodostui käännekohta tähtilaivaston ja Klingonien yhteenotossa.

Vaikka Prelude to Axanar on fanilähtöinen, joukkorahoituksella tuotettu lyhytelokuva, on elokuvan jälki ja tarina ensiluokkalinen. Juuri tällaisia Star Trek elokuvien tulisi olla. Vaikka pidänkin J.J. Abramsin Star Trek elokuvista, ei niitä voi verrata alkuperäisen sarjan tunnelmaan. Anaxar taas onnistuu tässä loistavasti. Star Trek universumi on luotu komeasti ja tarinaan on paneuduttu huolella. Uskon, että tällainen Star Trek universumin historian kertominen on paljon enemmän lähellä oikeitten Trekkereiden ajatusmaailmaa, kuin J.J. Abramsin elokuvat. Olisikin hyvä, jos Paramount uskaltaisi lähteä tukemaan tätä projektia niin sanottuna aitona Star Trek kokemuksena. Vaikka elokuva säilysikin Independent tuotantona ja elkova toteutettaisiin fani pohjalta luulisi Paramountin olevan enemmän, kuin kiinnostunut tukemaan projektia muutamalla miljoonalla. Elokuvan tunnelma, tarina ja näyttelijätyö on parasta mitä voi Star Trek elokuvalta odottaa. Nämä asiat yhdistettynä loistavaan visuaaliseen toteutukseen, voi vain toivoa, että tämä projekti saadaan kunnialla maaliin ja valkokankailla nähdään jälleen aito ja oikea Ster Trek elokuva.

Even Prelude to Axanar is fan based, crowd founded Independent short story it looks amazing. This is the way Star Trek movies should be. Even I like also J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies they are far away from the original feeling and idea of Star Trek. On the other hand Prelude to Axanar manage to bring original Star Trek universe back where it belongs, to fans. I only hope that Paramount could come closer to real fans of Star Trek and make this project to original Star Trek movie. They could finance this project as fan based movie and let it stay Independent project. Great story combined with great actors and beautiful CGI with the feeling of original Star Trek universe is something fans should get. I hope this project will get it finance and we some day will see a true Star Trek movie again on big screen.
